Washrooms and Powder Rooms Interior Design in Park Enclave, Islamabad

Residence of Mr. and Mrs. Ghulam Hussain is nestled in the heart of Park Enclave, Islamabad. Positioned on prime real estate, Park Enclave offers serene views of Rawal Lake against the majestic Margalla Hills.

This gated community residential enclave, overseen by Capital Development Authority (CDA) and fully endorsed with its approval, epitomizes a seamless fusion of nature and contemporary living. Sales of residential plots are still underway and many sold in park enclave are of kanal plots.

Client’s Brief:

Mr. and Mrs. Ghulam Hussain contacted us to improve the bathrooms and powder rooms in their luxurious house that’s being built on a large plot. They had gotten their house previously designed by an architect, and they wanted to know how their washroom would look. As each of the family member wanted a personalized washroom.

Although some desired a sophisticated and contemporary design and some wanted a darker than usual ambiance in the washrooms that would radiate opulence.

This Kanal house in Islamabad, was in the construction phase. Before starting with the designing of their washroom. Architect Zubair and Osama visited the site, to view the progress and see how much changes are in the layouts and size as compared to their construction plans.

There were some changes and there were also some design changes that happened during construction. Like one washrooms entrance was a step higher when entering, it wasn’t flush with the flooring of that particular room.

With the client’s approval, we strategically placed windows, doors, and ventilator openings to create a spacious and uncluttered atmosphere. We have a great opportunity to design a space that enhances natural light and ventilation. We can use high-quality materials and fixtures to create a luxurious feeling.

To achieve a perfect design, we carefully chose colors and finishes that enhance the beauty of the house.

Interior Design of Kanal House

The bathrooms have wooden panels that separate the shower area and add elegance. Two bathrooms were carefully designed with contrasting dark and light tones to match the unique style preferences of the client’s daughters. This amazing discovery unfolded during our collaborative design sessions. Also, one of the bathrooms used to be a storage room, but we recommended transforming it, which improved the functionality and beauty of the space.

This was the design for Powder room, powder room was really narrow so there was no way we would incorporate a whole vanity infront of the door. A bowl with ledge behind it and small mirror. And on the left side there is a whole 12 feet x 4 feet tile that was used as back wall for the wall mounted flush.

It was also backlighted, the whole window gives the feel of airiness to the washroom which had previously a mere 2 foot window.

Almost in every washroom we had to give some priority to storage, and with finishes in brown tiles and a seperate area for show made sure the whole washroom would not get wet when anyone takes a bath.

Incorporating a sitting area in the washroom also makes it easy when someone wants to take a breather or rest.

We played with texted tile which was available in the market with SAbdullah, and other darker variant was also available with them. Large window with fluted wall made of UPVC adds a sobereity to washroom that is needed.

We avoided using any solid walls in this washroom as the size was lesser than the other. And since this washroom was placed on the far side of the house it wasn’t going to receive much needed sun light.

Fluted panels with slightly less depth were also placed to assist with the slighter more traction in the bath area, while taking shower.

A single seat also gives the other wall a well needed sitting area in the washroom.

The shower area is slightly raised from the normal flooring of the washroom, and backlit with led. Dry and wet areas in the washroom are separate and cordoned off.

The person with this washroom had a particular layout already in mind and they were adamant about this very layout. To make sure that we weren’t wasting space in the washroom we placed additional storage wall in the washroom.

The sink is made up of Corian, made on the design that was suggested by Primarc Studio architects, and mirror is also backlit along with acccent lighting in the ceiling to make sure ambient lighting in this white themed washroom is amazing during the night.

With this much space we also moved the dressing table in the washroom. Its concealed behind a flat panel so when you are done using it, you can push it back inside.

This One kanal’s washroom designs in Park Enclave, Islamabad was a very unique project. They werent looking for interior design of house but they were willing to get interior design for washrooms.
